Our Work

Frayme supports and leads a variety of work and projects with the aim of improving youth mental health and substance use (YMHSU) care systems in Canada. Through various knowledge mobilization activities, Frayme aims to support our network of over 400 partner organizations providing direct services to youth and their families by bridging the gap between practice, research and lived experience.

Frayme's annual Knowledge Series event gathers stakeholders to share insights, identify opportunities, and brainstorm solutions to pave a path towards a more equitable and connected youth mental health sector. Knowledge sharing is critical for driving system change, and this program helps create a space for collaboration between all sectors, at all levels.

Groundbreakers is Frayme’s new national network of youth, caregivers, and mental health advocates. Groundbreakers are experts in their communities, their causes, and their own life experiences and work across Canada to inform youth mental health and substance use services and programs.

Frayme runs multiple grant streams a year in order to provide financial and capacity support to programs and organizations working in the youth mental health and substance use sector across Canada. Learn more about current funding opportunities or check out past grant recipients here.

The Knowledge Exchange Program aims to support Frayme partners working within the YMHSU system and other related sectors to make timely and evidence-informed decisions with regards to the implementation of integrated YMHSU services and supports.
