Over the past seven years, Frayme has built an interconnected network of over 400 partner organizations across Canada that are all working to improve mental health outcomes through system transformation. Resoundingly we know that evaluating what works is key to continued improvement, sustainability and investment. However, figuring out what and how to evaluate, and developing corresponding data can be challenging. Issue
Canada's mental health innovations and funding opportunities lacked the voices of caregivers, youth and families across Canada to be relevant and effective solutions resulting in a fragmented mental health system.


Solution
Incorporating the expertise of people with lived/living experience improves program outcomes and helps identify key issues that would otherwise be ommitted from designing service solutons.

Results
Frayme created Groundbreakers, a national league of lived experts across Canada, who are engaged youth, caregivers and advocates who want to see the mental health and substance use sector improve. Acting as a facilitator/intermediary, Frayme was able to match over 2000 lived experts over 5 years to meaningful work across Canada to deliver better mental health solutions.

Issue
Critical work can be limited in it's potential impact due to lack of accessiblibilty, marketing, and clarity.

Solution
For projects to have their biggest impact, it is critical to ensure the messaging, marketing and dissemination of the project is intentional and resonates with the target population.

Results
To support a National eating disorders peer support and resource platform, Frayme delivered a roboust marketing package with a dynamic new logo, brand and visual identity for the Bodypeace project.

Issue
Canadian's continue to struggle with accessing the right mental health supports, at the right time,in the right place and when they need it.

Solution
To develop a Canadian Youth Mental Health Insight platform that will allow individuals a range of services and information relevant to them. This will also be designed in colalboration with reserachers to further improve the system in evdience-based ways.

Results
To ensure the platform is co-designed with youth, Frayme brought together diverse youth from across Canada for a time-sensitive consultation. Youth were supported with allyship from Frayme to provide input about data governance and safety into platform development.

Issue
Many organizations in the mental health sector work beyond capacity in an effort to fill service gaps across the system resulting in a diversion of focus from large-scale system improvement efforts such as knowledge sharing and collaboration to respond to more immediate needs. This results in a more fragmented and less skilled sector.

Solution
Facilitating an upstream public health approach through a knowledge sharing organization that has a pulse on the system can allow more collaborative opportunities to create impactful results.

Results
To support a more connected and collaborative mental health sector, Frayme created and now maintains a pan-Canadian network of 400+ partner organizations and over 350 lived-experts in the mental health and substance use space and acts as a connector to share knowledge, resources and broker collaborations.

Issue
The annunal economic cost of mental illness in Canada is estimated to be over $50 billion per year, that includes lost productivity, health care costs, and reductions in health-related quality of list.

Solution
Providing training, coaching and solutions to investment leaders that can impact system growth and build ecosystmes of success.

Results
Frayme delivered a workshop to 70+ corporate leaders who have an understanding of the impact of mental illness in the workplace. By coaching on governance frameworks, creating enabling contexts, and building connections through collaboration and partnership Frayme was able ensure the coprorate sector was well-equipped in meaningful change and social investment.

We are thrilled to partner with Frayme, an organization committed to the wellbeing of youth and young adults and the acceleration of integrated youth care in Canada. Together, the MHCC and Frayme can continue to drive forward progress in mental health and wellness for all Canadians.

Thanks to the Frayme's support, we can expand the form and reach of our knowledge sharing activities. We are so grateful that this grant will allow us to expand our practice from primarily focused on youth, to creating the child specific Reasons for Living Inventory and Life Promotion Plan that is geared to children under 16.
