Child Development Institute

The Child Development Institute (CDI) delivers specialized mental health treatment services in Toronto with a focus on clinical excellence and applied research. Programming areas are: children under age 12 with conduct disorder, anxiety, trauma and attachment issues; children and their mothers who have experienced family violence; and children and youth with learning disabilities and mental health issues. In addition, CDI operates early learning centres across the city.

CDI also supports the replication, delivery and evaluation of the evidence-based SNAP (Stop Now and Plan) Program. SNAP has demonstrated positive outcomes and high ROI for children with serious behavioral issues, including criminal justice contact. CDI is currently leading a federally-funded national SNAP implementation in 100 Canadian communities. CDI has other partnerships to support SNAP implementation in the US, Caribbean, Europe and Australia.
